Actor Danny Pintauro Reveals He’s HIV Positive

Hollywood actor, Danny Pintauro dropped a bombshell when he revealed to Oprah Winfrey that he’s HIV positive and hes been for the past 12 years.
The actor who opened up on his personal life on Saturday’s episode of “Oprah: Where Are They Now?” the actor said, “I’m HIV-positive. And I have been for 12 years.”

Turns out the actor was diagnosed in 2003 and has since then kept it a secret from the public, the actor opened up on how he felt after discovering his status,
“There’s this awful feeling of, ‘I’m never going to be able to have a good relationship. No one’s ever going to want me,’” he said. There was, however, a silver lining of sorts, he added. “There was a sense of relief. … It’s backwards. You’ve spent so much time terrified that you’re going to get it, and then you have it. You don’t have to be terrified anymore.”
On why he finally decide to out himself after 12years, he said,
“It’s just a big deal. It’s not something that people are talking about right now really.”
The 39-year-old ex-actor further added that he wants gay men “to take better care” of themselves, He admitted to getting infected with the HIV virus during a wild period when he was experimenting sexually and doing crystal meth. He was “terrified” of catching the virus and obviously extremely upset when he found out he had it.
